Face Redness

Aloe cream - another rosacea treatment option?

rosacea-2Rosacea is a chronic, facial redness which for many, simply does not go away. It is most common in Caucasian women, between 30 and 60 years. Four types of rosacea are not equally spread - 50% of those who suffer from it, have red and itchy eyes. The other half can be classified into the remaining 3 groups: First, those with flushing and redness "only"; in the second group the face is red but with acne-like spots and bumps; in the third, the skin of the nose gets thick, known as "brandy nose".

There are multiple causes of rosacea and treating it varies from patient to patient, and from type to type. Increased level of the peptide catelhicidin is one of the causes and it's treated with antibiotics.
But what's interesting is that it can be caused by bacteria, not from the skin, but intestinal. That's why people live on antibiotics, on a diet which helps minimize bacteria growth, and, still, after a year or two - rosacea is not gone.

So, we ask, is there a natural remedy which could help people fighting this battle? Such a remedy should fulfill the following requirements:
  • Be safe for topical and internal use
  • Exhibit antibacterial properties
  • If applied topically, it should be able to penetrate the skin, moisturize it and kill bacteria

And, of course, you know what that remedy is – Aloe Vera Gel. It is known for its antibacterial activity, moisturizes the skin, penetrates through all layers, thanks to its component, lignin, which helps “pull” rest of the gel components all the way through the skin.
For about $20 you get Aloe Vera Juice for drinking, and for somewhere around $10, get Aloe Vera Gelly or Aloe Lotion, to apply it topically. Most people reported positive results, some were not happy, but it’s questionable, because there are many so called “pure” Aloe Vera products and those will not help anyone.
